If i were you i would type in, on google, discount vacations to cancun mexico. or even pricline. That is what we did and ended up saving over $300 on our flight. Try to fly Delta. It is the cheapest airline. You might find a like nice 3 star maybe 4 star for a lost cost!!! try because cancun is the best place to go for vaction!!!

are you sure you want to do an exchange in mexico? their are allot of kidnapping of u.s. citizens
2 :
Jamie has no idea what she's talking about... Watches too much TV... And yes, any long stay requires an FM format from the Foreign Relations Secretariat... Go to a Consulate...
3 :
yes anything over 3 mths requires a visa
4 :
No you don't; since American citizens are eligible to stay for up to 180 days without a visa you may travel to Mexico for your exchange of 5 months if accepted by a Mexican authority. http://www.inm.gob.mx/EN/index.php?page/not_need_visa . Edit: based on additional details The same applies to Canadians; you should state a different citizenship from start if you ask travel questions in Y!A USA instead of Y!A Canada.

My girlfriend is trying to get a student visa but was rejected and now is stuck, how can she get back home?
My girlfriend is trying to get a student visa but was rejected and now is stuck, how can she get back home?
My girlfriend was going to go to a university in the states. She got accepted into the university but went down to Mexico to get her student visa and they rejected her. They said that she has to wait 2 years before she can try again. Now she is stuck in Mexico. Is there any way that she can appeal it or is there another option?? And no, we are not in the postion to get married.

There's no appeal. The US Consular Officer has wide latitude when it comes to these things. Why can't she apply for 2 years? That makes no sense unless there was some other underlaying problem such as illegally living in the United States.
2 :
If I'm reading between the lines correctly, your girlfriend was living in the states w/o a visa, returned to her native Mexico to get one and was refused. Obviously someone suspected that she was trying to immigrate (or trying to reenter legally) and put a hold on her visa. Graduating from a US high school may have been a red flag (I'm just guessing here). Any additional tries at visas will probably set off more alarms and result in an even longer waiting period. Her best bet would be to apply at a college in Mexico and try to transfer in two years.
3 :
Well, there's no visa ineligibility that expires after 2 years. It sounds like she was here illegally to begin with, however, that would mean either a 3 or 10 year period of ineligiblity, not 2. If she was simply rejected for a student visa, because for some reason they considered her an intending immigrant, under 214b, she could reapply tomorrow, even though she'd probably get the same answer. It seems you're only getting part of the answer here.

What is the best way to travel to Mexico for students trying to save money?
Coming from the Bay Area, either flying out of San Francisco or San Jose. Would like to be near the beach.

Go to San Diego. Take the trolley/cab to the border. Then take a Mexican taxi to the airport in Tijuana. Rent a car there with total insurance. You can drive to Cabo, or find little hideaway resorts on the way that only the locals know about. You will be driving a Mexican car with Mexican plates and insurance. Nobody will spot you as tourists and if anything happens to the car, call the number and they will send you a new one- no worries. Scan the area with Google Earth for ideas on where to go. That is a very inexpensive way to travel in Mexico.

Best place to stay in Mexico for a college student?
Best place to stay in Mexico for a college student?
I've been to Mexico 8 times; 7 in Playa Del Carmen, and once in Cabo San Lucas. All 8 times, I've gone with the family in 5 star all inclusive resorts. I like the weather and the atmosphere of Mexico, but am also considering Cuba. Is cuba nice or cheaper? What is the best place(city/town & resort) for a college student and her boyfriend to go? We're not exactly rich obviously.. so 5 star isn't really an option for us, but we def. want all inclusive. I know American's can't go there, I'm not American though. the city of Guanajuato in the state of Guanajuato, is located in central mexico, there are plenty of museums and beautiful places to visit.
2 :
well i know nothing of cuba, but a really cool place in mexico is Sayulita, Nayarit. its just north of Vallarta. but instead of old retirees its a laid back, hash loving, surfer town. The food is a little pricey, but its pretty nice. The small villages around it make for great exploring too... Guanajuato's really nice too. Just a lot of beggars... and some of those tunnels smell like 300 year old human excrement.

i agree guanajuato or queretaro thats where i go when i go to mexico queretaro is located right next to guanajuato

I live in New Mexico and am interested in a student loan to attend University of Nevada (LV)...
How do I go about collecting information on a student loan for this college? I know absolutely nothing about student loans so if you could explain this to me as if I were a three year old I would greatly appreciate it. (Okay... a little exaggeration on speaking to me like I'm a three year old) Thank you!

The University of Nevada participates in the federal student loan program. These loans require no credit check, no cosigner, and have pretty good interest rates and repayment terms. You apply for these loans by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which is available on line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Hello Everybody, My name is Mrs Anita Brown and i live in the CANADA , life is worth living right now for me and my family and all this is because of one man sent by GOD to help me and my family, i once had a life filled with sorrow because my first daughter needed a kidney transplant and all our savings were going towards her medications and this normally leaves us with no money to pay our bills or even put enough food on our table and our rent was due and no funds to pay these bills and life felt so unfair to me and every night my daughter will cry herself to sleep every night until one day, i was browsing through yahoo answers and i saw a striking advert of a man that gives out personal loans and that the offer is opened to all and i have heard so many things about internet scams but at this point of my life, i was very desperate and ready to take any risk and at the end of the day, i applied for this loan and from one step to another, i got my loan within 48 hours through bank transfer and you know, it was all like a dream and i called Mr Steve Davidson who is the GOD sent lender i found and said, i have received my loan and he smiled stating that to GOD be the glory and i was so shocked as i have never ever seen anyone with such a GOD fearing and kind heart and today, i am the happiest Woman on earth because by GOD'S grace, my daughter kidney transplant was successful and today she is healthy and i and my family are living very comfortable and happy and if you are in my former situation or is in serious and legitimate need of a loan, you can reach this GOD sent lender via davidsonsteve11@yahoo.com
