What are the requirements for applying for a student visa?

What are the requirements for applying for a student visa?
I am 17 years old and I was born in Mexico but have lived in the United States for about 11 years now. Things have gotten harder for immigrant students and I think its time I do something about my case. I want to go to college and I know that having a student visa would make it so much easier. How much does it cost? How long does it take? I want to know everything! If you know ANYTHING about this please let me know. Thank You.

I bet you have attended school in the States so now u wanna go to college using the Student Visa. Well, you have to go to admissions of the College that u wanna attend and they will explain you about how to fill the I 20 Form and how much money u must have in the bank. Now a relative of you must make the phone call in Mexico to set the appointment for your interview. U have to pay around 150 dollars (www.google.com.mx (keywords: mexico us embassy or monterrey us consulate) ) They will give you the interview within 1 month or less. But you must apply at least 30 days before your course starts. You cannot apply before that. Read all the information in the website Now I have bad news because: I really wonder about the time when they type your name in the system and if they find your school records then probably will deny you the visa. We need to know how the US Embassy System works so in that way we can know if that affects you or not.

You need to apply through the college you will be going to. Check out the admissions page on their web page, for starters, searching for 'international students'. You can go to uscis.gov or the US state department web page for visa details but the college applies for you.
3 :
You first would need to apply to your chosen university, you can find all of the admission requirements, fees, procedures and application forms to apply as an international student on the schools website (just Google it). Once you have applied and been accepted, the university will issue you what is known an the Form I-20 and with the I-20 you then have to pay the SEVIS fee and with the SEVIS fee receipt and your I-20, you can then schedule an interview at the American Embassy in Mexico. Which means you must go back home to attend the interview as student visas are not issued in the United States; it must be done at an Embassy or Consulate abroad.

Unless you are fabulously wealthy you'll find it impossible to pay tuition at the Foreign Student Rate. The good news is that the United States does not hold your illegal alien status against you until you reach your 18th birthday. If you leave before reaching 18 and 1/2 there will be no ban on returning legally. If you wait until you are between 18 and 1/2 and 19 you'll face a ban of 3 to 5 years. If you are still here on your 19th birthday you'll be banned for 10 years.

I don't know about any kind of ban. From what I read if worst comes to worst they make you leave the country for 1 year before applying for permanent citizenship or changing status in certain ways. I'm no expert however. I did search online and found the following you might want to check out: http://www.visalaw.com/02mar4/12mar402.html I have friends who worked off the books while they put themselves through college on a student visa. It's very hard but can be done. If you can afford it then I'd recommend getting an immigration lawyer now to advise you. Also start preparing now for what you plan to do after you have a degree. You can read about work visas here: http://www.istudentcity.com/immigration/imm_permission_h1b.asp These were just two sites I found by doing a quick search on yahoo. There are numerous others.

Can i apply for a student visa?

Can i apply for a student visa?
My friend was brought by his parents at the age of 8. Started 3rd grade and now is a Senior. He wants to know if going back to mexico and getting a student visa will be easier for him since he was here for a long period of time. He doesnt want to live in mexico because he doesnt know anyone. What is the penalty he will face when he goes back to mexico and asks for a visa since he was already in a US High school?

There will be no penalty as long as he is under 18, but it will complicate the situation terribly. Provide more information. What status he currently has? What status his parents have? You can visit "Free Immigration Procedure Support (FIPS)" Facebook group and ask this question with more details over there.
2 :
He won't face any penalty if he leaves before he is 18 1/2. If he stays here from the ages of 18 1/2 to 19,he will get a 3 year ban. If he stays after the age of 19,he will get a 10 year ban. When he gets to Mexico,he can apply for a student visa if he is accepted at a US university and has the money to pay the very expensive international tuition costs.

What is needed to take a family friends minor child into Mexico for vacation?

What is needed to take a family friends minor child into Mexico for vacation?
We are going on a weekend vacation to Mexico. Our daughter wants to bring her best friend who is a daughter of a family we have been friends with for years. Do we need anything specific to take her into Mexico with us? We all have passports. She has a birth certificate and a student ID from her school with her photo.

I'm pretty sure she needs a passport and I think there's a form that needs to be filled out and signed by the girls parents saying it is okay to take her across the border.
2 :
You will need a written form of consent from the parents. Photocopy of their Id's, and proper identification of the child. Also need passport and personal Identification.
3 :
Most important she will need a notarized letter from both parents she's allowed to leave the country with you. If you guys are traveling by ground all you need is a birth certificate and an id, but if traveling by air she will need a passport.
4 :
If you are FLYING, she will need a passport. otherwise, she needs her birth certificate. YOU must have a letter signed by BOTH PARENTS and notarized giving you permission to take the child with you to Mexico. See website below and scroll down to section on "Minors".
5 :
written letter from her parents. return tickets
6 :
depends on your style of travel so do lots of research!!!

Did the girl police chief in Mexico plan this whole event to get her and her daughter to America?

Did the girl police chief in Mexico plan this whole event to get her and her daughter to America?
It seems like a perfect plan. She was a criminal justice student and knew that if she took office in Mexico she would be threatened then her and her daughter could legally come to America and be granted asylum. This doesn't seem like the actions of a Brave girl trying to bring order back to her drug gang infested city?

Perhaps. But she could've been blown out of her shoes in the first week. That takes a few cojones ... even for the fairer gender.
2 :
I didn't know they let girls have such important jobs. I figured those positions would go to women.
