What do I need to get a student visa?
i live in mexico and i want a student visa to go to school in the US, what kind of paperwork do i need to fill out? how long does it take? how much does it cost? i want to study highschool. do i still need to get accepted?

well. first you need to be accepted by a school, and then they'll issue you an I-20 student form and register you in the student database, SEVIS. at that point, you can apply for the visa. the visa interview fee is $140. the rest of the cost will depend on the tuition of the school that accepts you.

Not if you live in a Border town like Juarez or Tijuana. They make special border crossing cards for commuting students. I don't know about cost or time.

How much does the visa cost to go to Mexico?
Hi, I want to have a cruise to Mexico. How much does the vise cost for an international student living in USA?

That depends on where you are from. The normal fee if you need a visa is $36 (USD) Here is a link to see if you even need a tourist visa. http://www.consulmexny.org/eng/visas_fmt.htm

If you are on a cruise, they will take care of the "tourist visa" which is actually just a little card. Last I knew it cost about $22.00 USD. Just call your cruise line and ask them. This is not something you need to do ahead of time. It will be taken care of on the ship, just like it is when you fly to Mexico.

the current price is US $23. or 270 pesos. For a cruise or an airline flight, it will be included in your fare. They will give you the form before you go ashore. Keep it, since you have to turn it in when you leave. If you go by car, you w ill ahve to pay it separately at a bank.

Is it safe to travel by bus in Mexico at night?
Is it safe to travel by bus in Mexico at night?
We are two female university students travelling from Mexico city to Palenque (in Chiapas) and then a small town on the coast neat Oaxaca. All the direct buses from mexico city to Palenque are night buses which leave in the evening and arrive in the morning, (~16 hours) do you think it is safe for us?

You'll be fine. . . I did almost the same thing (from Mexico City to Oaxaca) last year, and I didn't have any problems. And I was all alone!

Yeah you'll be fine, most of the crimes happen at the border and not all over the country like many poeple think. I've been in mexico many times, i studied there and lived for some months nothing bad happend to me. everybody was very nice to me.

Yes, if you grab your purses or put them below your feet when you sleep. The places that you will visit are peaceful and very reasonably safe. Most people are tourist friendly, but don't push: if don't have to mention you're americans, don't do it.

Like many others here,I also think you will be just fine.On the late night buses it is not unusual to be stopped and boarded at random military checkpoints during the night.They usually just do a cursory search and you are on your way again in a few minutes.The only reason I mention it is that it can be a little disconcerting if you have never had it happen before and are not expecting it. NOT AS SAFE IKNOW OF THREE PEOPLE THAT WERE ROBBED AT NIGHT. ONE JUST LAST YEAR. NO HARM DONE AND THEY GOT $200.00 YOUR ODDS ARE 99% THAT YOU WILL BE FINE
