Cheap, all-inclusive Mexico resorts for students on spring break?

Cheap, all-inclusive Mexico resorts for students on spring break?
I'm going on senior spring break with my friends and am looking for something cheap (less than $400 a night) in Mexico that's all-inclusive. Anyone had any experiences that were good? Bad?

You might find a good deal on the Bookit website: http://www.bookit.com/mexico/cancun/

My husband and I went to Cabo for our honeymoon. We are both 25. We stayed at the Riu Palace and I was very impressed. The place was very nice/clean, but the buffet that was open all the time wasn't awesome. The DINNER selections were nice. We ate Japanese one night, mexican another...few other choices. The drinks were never watered down- we drank a LOT. Sometimes I wished the drinks had a little less alcohol. lol I'm not positive on the per night cost, but for flight AND all inclusive stay at Riu Palace for 7 nights for 2 adults was right under $3,000. I thought that was good for the quality of service we received. I ended up booking the trip through Riu's website. I would definitely book another trip with Riu.

Hola. People seem to believe Cabo is huge. It really isn't. There are only a few all inclusives right in Cabo, but they are good ones. Riu Palace and Riu Sante Fe do most of the spring break business, but there are also others, the Pueblo Bonito and Villa is big spring break resorts - these all are on the spring break beach called Medano, which isn't far from downtown nightclubs etc. If you want really really cheap the Tesoro has an all inclusive option and its right across the street from all the nightclubs. Say less than 100 a night. You can also go 20 minutes out to the other town (san jose del cabo) and get rooms at a resort, and then shuttle, bus, or taxi to the downtown. Look into the Royal Solaris, Crowne Plaza, Mayan Palace, Barcelo, El Presidente to start, or along the way is the Melia Real. All all-inclusives. Good luck.

Middle school student here in U.S. illegally: Go back to Mexico for student Visa for college?

Middle school student here in U.S. illegally: Go back to Mexico for student Visa for college?
Ok, so there's this 13 yr old here illegally. She is smart enough to be whatever she wants, but she is illegal. If she wanted to return to Mexico in order to apply for a student Visa, would she have to do it before she is 18? What if she was 18 when she went back to Mexico (as in she graduated from high school then left the U.S.) Would they let her back into the U.S. with a student Visa? How long would that take? How could this work?

She would have to go back to Mexico within 6 months after her 18th birthday in order for her illegal status not to be held against her. If she does that, then there is no reason why she couldn't return on a student visa.
2 :
She has to return before 18 to avoid .. thhe ban on entering the US a few years earlier would be better still Student visa will depend on her getting her I-20 and bing able to finance the schooling

If she leaves the U.S. before she is 18, she might be able to avoid the "unlawful presence" charge, but that would not assure her of being able to obtain an F-1 visa. An applicant applying for a student visa under INA 101(a)(15)(F) (8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15)(F)) or INA 101(a)(15)(M) (8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15)(M)) must meet the following requirements in order to qualify for a student visa: (1) Acceptance at a school (see 9 FAM 41.61 N2 and N3); (2) Possession of sufficient funds (see 9 FAM 41.61 N6); (3) Minimum preparation for course of study (see 9 FAM 41.61 N7); and (4) Present intent to leave the United States at conclusion of studies (see 9 FAM 41.61 N4). After living in the U.S. most of her life, who is going to believe that she intends to leave the U.S. at the end of her studies? At this moment, she does not have a foreign residence to which she intends to return. Why would anyone think that she would have one when she's 18? The chances of her being denied an F-1 visa based upon her history in the U.S. are much stronger than her chances of being given an F-1 visa.

Depends on if your an illegal

If you are here illegally, hurry back to Mexico! If you return before you turn 18, your parents' illegal acts will not be held against you. Once you turn 18, you are choosing as an adult to violate the law and you will be barred from the US for 10 years. So hustle back to Mexico, apply for college, and if accepted, apply for a student visa. You will have to prove that you have sufficient funds for all of your educational expenses, plus all of your living costs, plus your return transportation to Mexico. Also consider that you could attend college in Mexico, and there are some good ones -- and they cost a fraction of colleges in the US!

The chances of you getting a student visa after living illegally in the US for over 12 years are very slim indeed. Since you're still under 18, you aren't legally barred from getting a visa, but since you've spent most of your life in the US, you'd have a very hard time convincing anyone that you have any intention to return to Mexico and that is part of the decision to issue a student visa or not.

Would you let your 20 yr old college student go to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico for 3 nights with his friend?

Would you let your 20 yr old college student go to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico for 3 nights with his friend?
We are Americans and I won a 3 night stay at the Hacienda hotel and spa in PV so I was going to send my son and a friend of his there over the summer. What do you think? Is it safe?

Stop worrying so much about the safety issue. Living in a big city in the states is as safe as living in Johannesburg. He wont die unless he goes around picking fights with people.

Puerto Vallarta is a very safe resort as long as they use good sense and don't get too drunk or use drugs. You know your son and his friends and know how mature they are.

I go there every year and wonder the same thing since I have four daughters. I would tell him he needs to stay on the resort. No need to go into town or party in the clubs down town. Most of the resorts are all inclusive and include alcohol and most resorts also have a 'disco' on site. Downtown at night can get a bit crazy and anything goes in some of those clubs. I would not want my daughters 'off site' without me being there with them. No problem with him going to PV just as long as he stays on the resort and the beaches near his hotel. There is plenty of booze and babes without him going into town.

The thing about Puerto Vallarta is that people don't really have to leave the resort and just chill at the pool without having to leave and worry about safety. Of course they will want to party so tell them to get a taxi and not wander around the city. The malecon (boardwalk) is a great place to walk around near the beach and the shops. PV is a great town. Wish I could go more often.

I would if I trust him. Vallarta is very safe for all turists. Now the question is if you think your 20 year old will be ok behaving himself with all the freedom he is going to get. You know your son better than anybody else. Trust your gut. Good luck and we welcome you all here in Puerto Vallarta
