If you plan to transit through the United States and hold a Mexican passport you will need to get a C-1 transit visa for your travel. A student visa does not authorize the transit through the United States. Source(s): http://trinidad.usembassy.gov/transit_visas2.html ..

He should have some sort of papers showing what's going on. I wouldn't leave the country and try to come back right now that way. Why can't he just wait until he gets his papers?
2 :
Not if he flys, gotta have a passport for that now. And I wouldnt bet on those two pieces of paper getting him back in on the ground either.
3 :
No as of Jan. 1st he has to have a passport!
4 :
Yeah as of recently he's required to have a passport however as to the flying. I saw a news article two days ago that said the airports were still letting passengers through without passports during this time of transition. They have until sometime in spring i believe before they have to be 100 percent compliant. So according to the article they were pulling patrons aside and informing them of the policy checking them out then letting them pass.

no. Not because it is Mexican, but because repaying a loan does not give rise to a deduction. getting a loan is not income and repaying it is not a loss.
2 :
You can if you paid student loan interest on a qualified student loan. Principal payments do not count. Also, if you make enough money, you cannot deduct all or any of the interest, which you might check into if you earned over $100k.
