I'm a student filmmaker and plan to shoot in Mexico.?
I am based in l.a. and i want to shoot a short film for class in mexico. I want to know if anybody has any experience on how to deal with permits down there, and also if anybody knows how to go about doing a casting call down there. If anyone can share their experience of filming in Mexico, the "do's and don'ts" that would be incredibly helpful. Thank you.

umm u are real ambitious but some tips... permits means local police which means u have to grease some really ashy hands... u know what... why dont u just come over to arizona and get talent here and shoot here in the desert. right now mexico is really a no-no esp with the drug lords there.. cameras tend to make them real nervous... unless it is a documentary my advice is that u can relocate and shoot elsewhere... here are some of the things that can go wrong stolen equipment stolen vehicles hungry federales here is a thread i found http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=12278 good luck..
